to discover more about learning, unlearning and experiential learning. Being that experiential learning is the 9th direction of my self-aware leadership compass, this was a really good opportunity to discover more. Here are the core concepts from my blog article. You can read it in full here.

Here are the 10 core concepts from out interview:

1. Unlearning to Relearn: Effective learning starts by unlearning outdated beliefs and creating space for new, empowering ideas with a growth mindset.

2. Experiential Learning for Self-Awareness: Learning by doing is essential, helping people apply knowledge in practical ways and build their self-awareness.

3. Self-Awareness as a Growth Foundation: Self-awareness is key to questioning beliefs, confronting blind spots and fostering adaptability for growth.

4. Prioritising Practice Over Theory: Progress comes from hands-on practice rather than passive learning, turning knowledge into real skills.

5. Enhanced Focus for Learning: Strategies like the 80/20 rule, time-blocking, and focus apps (e.g., pomodoro timers) support focus and productivity.

6. Creating Experiential Learning Opportunities: Goal-based learning and focusing on specific objectives, helps make learning practical. Journaling and learning with others also deepen understanding.

7. Adapting to "Kind" vs. "Wicked" Learning Environments: Recognising whether a learning environment is "kind" (structured) or "wicked" (complex) helps tailor learning strategies for better outcomes.

8. Preparing for the AI-Driven Workplace: As AI grows, relearning human skills, like communication and empathy, will set us apart. Adaptability is key to staying relevant.

9. Collaboration Over Competition: Adopting a collaborative mindset and seeing others as allies fosters a healthier, more productive workplace culture.

10. Cultivating a Growth Mindset: A growth mindset encourages curiosity, flexibility, and resilience, essential for adapting to a rapidly changing world.
