Hey Nia, this was such an awesome interview with Lisa! I really love the psychological safety aspect and holistic leadership. I always figured emotional intelligence and self-awareness were critical for good leadership, but I didn’t really think about fostering a great environment for new ideas or risks to be taken. I’ve also been super into holistic well being and didn’t think it played much of a part in leadership before reading this! I guess a healthy mind makes a healthy leader! Definitely. I think leaders have to work out what psychological safety means in their team. I think there are generic elements, but different places may need more or less focus on something than another.

Psychological safety really resonates with me. Creating a culture of psychological safety must be a top priority of any leader.
Definitely. I think leaders have to work out what psychological safety means in their team. I think there are generic elements, but different places may need more or less focus on something than another.
And for mid-level managers, that may mean carving out and maintaining a safe space amidst general dysfunction.
