Creating a space for worker contentment is crucial to good leadership, and I appreciate the point that leaders can only offer the opportunity for workers to find happiness.

Yes it’s an interesting perspective. I’d never thought about it in terms of happiness versus conditions for happiness before

Great summary!

Can't agree more around the point that most new managers don't get the formal management training they need. Would continue that into most managers don't get the leadership training they need.

Yes you're right.

Lots of people still think leadership is synonymous with the roles at the top of the organisation, but I don't think that's true.

I always make a strict distinction between the terms “boss” and “leader.” They really have nothing to do with each other in a practical sense.

Great summary Nia. I loved our chat. Self awareness is super important if you want to be happy at work. You have to understand your needs and be aware they are continuously changing and to adapt your work accordingly.
